Online Therapy for Adults (Telehealth)
If you’re feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed by expectations, or worn down by the pressure to keep everything looking “fine,” therapy can feel hard to fit in. Online therapy offers a flexible way to get meaningful support without the extra time and energy it takes to travel to an office.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, or the quiet exhaustion that comes from always being “on,” telehealth makes it easier to prioritize your mental health from the comfort of your home.
When Online Therapy Makes Sense
Online therapy can be a good fit if you:
-
Have a full schedule and limited flexibility during the week
-
Travel often or split time between locations
-
Live outside Kentucky but want specialized anxiety-focused care
-
Prefer the privacy and comfort of your own space
-
Want to stay consistent during transitions or busy seasons
-
Have put off therapy because getting to an office feels like too much
For many people, telehealth removes barriers that have made starting—or sticking with—therapy feel out of reach.
How Telehealth Works in My Practice
Telehealth sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform designed specifically for therapy. You can meet from home, your office, or anywhere you have privacy and a reliable internet connection.
Sessions are 50 minutes and follow the same structure as in-person therapy. The depth, insight, and relational focus are the same—only the setting is different.
Many clients find that meeting from their own environment reduces pressure and makes it easier to be open. Telehealth also allows for greater consistency, which is especially important when working through long-standing patterns like anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or burnout
Telehealth Across 43 States (PSYPACT)
I’m licensed to provide telehealth therapy through PSYPACT, an interstate agreement that allows psychologists to work with clients across participating states.
This means you can access therapy with me even if you don’t live in Kentucky, as long as you’re physically located in a PSYPACT-participating state at the time of your session.
I currently offer telehealth to adults located in 43 states, including Kentucky and most surrounding states. If you’re unsure whether your state is included, I’m happy to confirm it for you.

Working With Dr. Katie DeShields
I’m a licensed psychologist offering online therapy to adults across PSYPACT states. I work with people who are used to holding everything together—often at the cost of their own needs—and who want more than surface-level coping strategies. My approach is warm, relational, and insight-oriented.
We move at a pace that feels manageable, paying attention not just to what you’re thinking but also to how your body responds. Some sessions focus on deeper insight and pattern recognition; others are about slowing things down enough to feel steadier and less overwhelmed. Both are an important part of the process.
Whether we meet in person or online, the work remains meaningful, connected, and focused on long-term change. Not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions.

Focus Areas in My Practice
Many clients come to therapy with one main concern. As we work together, it often becomes clear that these concerns don’t exist in isolation. We begin to notice how patterns overlap and explore what’s underneath them.
